Why I do what I do

From a young age, I have always loved learning about finance and economics. I love the dynamic nature of investment markets and the opportunities that they present.

When I went to university, economics was the obvious choice. After graduating and joining Westpac and working in financial markets, it was clear to me that I wanted to make real change in the lives of individuals and their families, so I went on to study financial planning.

I enjoy helping people and building long-term relationships and joining clients on their journey to financial security and independence.

I am a Warren Buffet enthusiast and have studied the world’s greatest investor for many years. In 2009, in the midst of the Global Financial Crisis, I met with the then richest man in the world and got to interview him about his investment philosophy. This was a career highlight and the principles of his value investment style helped form the basis on which I give the advice to create and protect wealth.

I have been in the industry now for over 20 years and I love what I do.

A few things about me:

I am the dad of two beautiful girls.  I love the outdoors, particularly the ocean and have a deep passion for physical and mental wellbeing.

In my spare time, you’ll see me either at the gym, playing tennis, or learning to surf.

I love to travel, great food, and good conversation, and am always up for trying new experiences.

I am the proud volunteer Chairman of the Irene Gleeson Foundation, which runs four schools, medical clinics, and an orphanage for vulnerable children in Northern Uganda. IGF, feed, clothe and educate over 4000 children per day. Prior to the pandemic, I would make regular trips to visit the orphanage and our schools and I look forward to a time in the future that I can return.
