Why I do what I do
I have been involved in Finance and banking for all of my career, commencing with Halifax Building Society in the UK. After coming to Australia I progressed into mortgages, and worked for the ANZ Bank, Bankwest and then Collateral management for Macquarie Bank.
Why mortgages? I find it very rewarding helping and assisting our clients in the mortgage process. They are making what is possibly the largest financial decision of their lives so anything I can do to assist and make the process smoother is very fulfilling.
I enjoy working for IMFG, and in particular love working close with Matt Clayton. I have known Matt for quite a number of years. He is an exceptional manager and colleague and I just happen to be the lucky one who assists him.
There is nothing about Australia I do not love - the beaches, weather, and outdoor lifestyle. Every day that I come to work I realise how beautiful Sydney is – the Harbour Bridge, the Opera House – both of which we have great views from our boardroom!
A few things about me
- I originally arrived in Australia from the UK in 2001 on a working holiday, but obviously, I am still here.
- The reason for this is that I met a wonderful man who is now my husband and we have been married for 13 years. We have no children as yet, but hopefully that will soon change. We do have an adorable pooch called “Pippa”, who is very spoilt.
- While living in Sydney is great I obviously miss my family back home. We share a close bond so I am extremely fortunate that they regularly come to visit me. I am also blessed to have wonderful in-laws and a great circle of friends and love getting everyone together for BBQ’s. After all, that is what Australia is all about!
